Redefining Executive Education

ISM, based in Paris and New York, is a truly international institution offering program options in five continents, as well as online. It is important for students and alumni to know that in addition to having all programs accredited by the ACBSP, the International School of Management is recognized by the French Ministry for Higher Education and Research.

Specialized, programmatic accreditation is a voluntary process which involves rigorous internal and external reviews. The fact that a school has succeeded in getting its programs accredited means that it has engaged in strategic reflection with its primary stakeholders, has conducted institutional research on all its key resources and activities, and has submitted an in-depth self-study report. This self-study has been reviewed by the accrediting body and the school has been visited by external peer evaluators who have made an independent recommendation to the accrediting body. The school must furthermore report regularly on its key institutional outcomes and continuous improvement processes.

Recognition from the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research means that the establishment is officially registered as a private institute of higher learning in France, that its programs are considered higher education programs, and that it is authorized to issue diplomas. The establishment has submitted documentation on its governance, resources, the academic content of its programs and the teaching staff and received approval. This recognition can be key for alumni in obtaining the recognition of qualifications in other countries.
