Professor Jack Forget, Phd
Chairman of the Board of Directors
The International School of Management
Over the last forty years, I have been dedicated to higher education and innovation within the field. In the 1970s, while living in Paris, I wrote an article in Le Monde about ‘urban campuses’ asserting that “school centers far from decision making cities are a factor of isolation for the students; campuses should be urban and furthermore ‘multi-urban’.”
Today, I continue to stand by these words. ISM was founded in, and continues to be located in important financial hubs around the globe. Even though business is increasingly international in scope, different parts of the world function differently. One must travel to those different places to study the culture and principles to fully understand each country’s distinctive culture and business climate.
I began my career in education teaching at Université Paris-Dauphine and in French business schools. I had the pleasure of starting a private business school, Institut Supérieur de Gestion, in 1967. For the next several years of my career, I split my time between teaching in San Francisco and Paris, which culminated in founding a private university in the 1980’s. I relocated to New York City in the early 1990’s and in 1998 I established, along with several colleagues, the International School of Management (ISM).
From the beginning, ISM examined higher education through a different lens. At its core is the mission to provide a strong and knowledgeable foundation in international business in order for business professionals to further their careers. We strive to provide a program of rigorous academic coursework and personalized academic advising coupled with in-depth exposure to current multicultural business practices.
ISM continues to adapt to the needs of today’s business professionals. In the near future, we aim to expand our global reach with seminars in new strong and emerging markets. Our seminar size will remain intimate, allowing close interaction between students and faculty members.
I invite you to join our unique ISM community as it continues to provide world class executive education.
