Asian Business Perspectives: Globalization in East Asia - Tokyo Seminar Print E-mail
This course will explore the theory and practice of Management with particular attention to International Human Resource Management in Japan and Asia with an eye toward understanding the main challenges facing managers here. The course will introduce management ideas, practices, and unique characteristics of Japanese organizations by assessing current challenges facing the Japanese companies. Examples are taken mainly from Japanese organizations and their overseas subsidiaries as well as some cases from China. Topics include Japanese-style management, globalization and corporate strategies, employment relations, diversity, production systems, and issues of transferability overseas.
