Despite more than a decade of slow economic growth, Japan remains one of the largest, most dynamic markets in the world. This course will take an in-depth look at the strategies domestic and international brands have employed to lure Japans famously demanding consumers. It will also cover the social and demographic trends that will shape corporate marketing strategies going forward. Particular focus will be given to how marketing strategies in Japan differ from Europe and the US including product proliferation and focus on extreme quality. Examples and case studies will include luxury brands and convenience stores, as well as the automotive, food and hospitality industries.
