At the end of the day, what persuaded me to enroll at ISM was the international focus. The mix is as enriching as it is challenging. We live in a global world, after all, we all need more exposure to it. I come from Australia to take the Seminars—that’s a 24 hour flight—but it’s absolutely worth it. The success of ISM is a result of its business focus. It is constantly demonstrating the practical applications of ideas. You’ve got really high-quality teaching. It’s surprising, but I’ve attended executive education at Harvard, and ISM is a notch above for its business focus. Your other schools concentrate too much on research and writing papers. At ISM, businesspeople teach businesspeople. They get to the heart of the matter. The materials, both in class and in the on-line courses, are extremely relevant and cutting-edge. It’s all quite usable and pragmatic. You take something away from everyday and every class. Take my last seminar, for example. We trained in writing strategy plans. For 11 years, I never wrote a strategy plan for my business, and now it’s right there. ISM is constantly delivering some of the latest and most important ideas, which I, as a Consultant, can put to work. And it’s not just the readings and the professors. ISM students learn from each other. Iron sharpens iron as they say, and the sparks fly. The student-to-student teaching is remarkably effective.
