I wanted to move forward in my business education: I had earned my MBA, and had to take another step. The DBA at ISM is unique in Europe. The DBA at ISM is unique in Europe. Most schools don’t even offer a DBA program, and none has a program like this one. I just couldn’t find what I wanted anywhere else. Of course the course schedule is crucial—I own and run Steyr-Mannlicher, so I am not going to be able to be in the classroom every week. I needed ISM’s flexibility. That’s the key to their educational model. What happens is the school attracts busy, successful managers, and those businesspeople establish a network. That’s really one of the most valuable things the school has to offer. You have a community of friends and colleagues that you can call up, visit, and even work with. They teach you about their ways of doing business, and they can give you an edge in bidding for international contracts.
