Personal Statement Print E-mail

We ask that your personal statement be a typed, single-spaced document of one to two pages.
Please number your responses as you:

1. Elaborate on your objectives in applying to ISM, describing your future career plans.

2. Give a candid description of yourself, highlighting the personal characteristics you
feel to be your strengths and weaknesses.

3. Describe your current research interests regarding the world of business.

In addition, please choose and answer one among the following three questions (two to three
paragraphs):

  • Describe your greatest area of professional growth in your career. What areas would you like improve on in the future?

  • Describe your most enjoyable/memorable professional experience. What did you learn about yourself and others from this experience?

  • Describe a particular frustration or difficulty (e.g., an ethical dilemma) that you have experienced in business. How did you resolve this situation and what was the outcome? What lessons did you learn from this experience?
