ISM Open House & Networking Event April 19th Print E-mail

ISM would like to invite you to meet with their Director of Recruitment and Development on April 19, 2013. ISM will be hosting consultations for candidates interested in enrolling in one of ISM's masters or doctoral programs.

ISM Open House & Networking Event April 19thPotential candidates will have the opportunity to ask any questions they may have about ISM's program, our international partnerships, scholarship prospects, and admissions guidance for the October 2013 intake.If you are interested in an individual consulation, they are available from 10:00AM to 5:00PM by appointment only.

Alternatively, if you are not available during the day, we would be happy to invite potential candidates to a networking event at one of our facilities from 6PM to 7:30PM, with current students as well as some of ISM's alumni. This will allow you to ask them questions on their own experiences with the ISM program. Also our Academic Director and Student Services Coordinator will be in attendance and you can follow up with them regarding any questions you have.

Paris, FR- International School of Management (ISM) proudly celebrates its 15th year as a leading international business school, with innovative programming in executive education and its founders celebrate 35 years in the field having created cutting-edge international business programs. Since being founded, under the leadership of Professor Jack Forget, PhD, current president of ISM, the International School of Management has developed into an innovative business school, with an exceptionally diverse faculty, staff and student body. International Conference on Engaged Management Scholarship Now Open Print E-mail

The International Conference on Engaged Management Scholarship has been established as the venue for the advancement and sharing of knowledge related to engage management scholarship carried out by professional business doctorate programs. The conference is organized yearly by the Executive Doctorate in Business Administration Council (EDBAC) which has broad international representation of executive doctoral providers. Our purpose is to promote the value of engaged management scholarship and to raise its profile internationally. The 2013 Conference is organized by the Executive Doctorate program at Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University in the US.

The Conference will consist of research papers, poster sessions, panels, invited talks, presentations, and a doctoral consortium. It is open to all scholars who are actively involved in practicing engaged management scholarship or investigating different forms of it. The Conference is the premier international meeting place for students, alumni, faculty and managers involved in professional business doctorate programs around the world.

Besides the academic sessions, the agenda will also include working sessions for directors and program administrators that will provide valuable insight and discussion on program and curriculum design and on the careers and overall perceptions of professional doctorates.

ISM Dean Dr. Joseph Santora Published in Management Decision Journal Print E-mail

ISM would like to congratulate our Dean Dr. Joseph Santora for his recent publication in the "Management Decision" journal. Dr. Santora's recent publication, entitled "Twenty-first century leadership: international imperatives" was also published with Julie-Anne Sheppard and James Sarros of Monash University in Melbourne Australia.

The aim of this paper is to identify the core issues that organizational leaders are facing internationally, as a result of a globalized and rapidly changing international economic environment. Appropriate leadership competencies and skills that enable organizational leaders to effectively deal with these core globalization issues are examined in detail and are further explained through a conceptual model developed for the purpose of this study.

Current Ph.D Candidate Ronald Jean Degen Chaired Two Sessions at CIE-TEA 2012 Conference Print E-mail

ISM is pleased to announce that current Ph.D candidate Ronald Jean Degen was invited to chair two
sessions at the CIE-TEA 2012 from November 1-3 2012 Conference where he presented two papers he
wrote related to his coursework at ISM.

The conference was held in Izmir, Turkey and featured speakers were Joseph Stieglitz (Nobel Price
winner in the “Economy” sector) and the Turkish Finance Minister. Congratulations Ronald on your high
achievement.

 
Make Space, Find possibilities Print E-mail

Ms. Zina Kyrikaos recently attended the Women in Leadership (WIN) Conference held in Rome titled “Make Space, Find Possibilties” from October 3-6 2012. The global conference provided an important opportunity for Ms. Kyriakos to meet with several business school professors and exchange knowledge and expertise, such as Senior Professor Beatrice Bauer from the “Bocconi School of Management” and
Professor Julia Prats from the “IESE Business School” in Barcelona. Ms. Kyriakos was an active participant in the Conference, participating in four-day workshops on women empowering women; women leaders coming into their own: feminine leadership in action; managing the dark side of growth; creating tomorrow today; and an open dialogue on the power of gender diversity.

Ms. Kyriakos is also the founder of a NGO “Change and Development Foundation” (CFD) based in Beirut which attempts to tap into the wellspring of unexplored and latent talent of women as well as fashion programs to assist schools and universities in leadership development. 

 
Congratulations to Maria Doria for Receiving the EECERA 2012 Best Practitioner Research Award Print E-mail

Dr. Maria V. Doria (Chartered Psychologist) has recently won the EECERA 2012 Best Practitioner Research Award for her research work into the technique of Video Interaction Guidance as a therapeutic intervention for vulnerable families linked with substance abuse and mental health problems. The EECERA is the European Early Childhood Education Research Association, an independent, self-governing, international association which promotes and disseminates multi-disciplinary research on early childhood and its applications to policy and practice.

 
Dr. Peter Horn Appointed President of ACBSP Print E-mail

ISM is pleased to announce and congratulate Dr. Peter Horn on his achievement in becoming the President of ACBSP

ACBSP Installs its First President affiliated with a school from outside the United States: Dr. S. Peter Horn, chancellor at the International School of Management (ISM) in Paris, France. The announcement was made at the ACBSP Annual Conference held June 15-18 in Baltimore, Md.

Horn's involvement with ACBSP has been extensive. He became a member around 1998 when ISM began the accreditation process. He has served on various ACBSP committees. Furthermore, Horn has been instrumental in the growth of the International Council of Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP Region 8), serving as president from 2009-11.
