Course Description: The workshop in Executive Leadership is designed to bring all of your previous Coursework and life and business experience to bear on the issues and opportunities of leading a business organization in an environment that is competitive, uncertain, ever-changing and global.
The principal objective for workshop participants will be to add to your confidence level to lead/manage effectively in a world in which one will be presented with diverse business challenges -- situations in which the leader/manager has little or no previous experience -- where the quality of thought and behavior, and not technical proficiency, are the keys to success.
We will utilize case studies, articles from business publications, experiential exercises, and our own experiences to further develop our leadership skills.
We will examine leadership theories, traits and styles. The workshop will focus on the practical application of these considerations in the workplace, especially in regard to: 1. leading individuals and teams; 2. consistent, clear communication throughout the business organization; 3. building trust and commitment; 4. understanding and building constructive relationships; 5. identifying and developing potential; and 6. adopting different leadership styles according to context. |
