ISM’s Finance Department Chair Dr. Christophe Schinckus has co-authored a chapter in the Encyclopedia of Monetary Policy, Financial Markets, and Banking.

The chapter, titled “The Effects of the Global Economic Policy Uncertainty on Fiscal Cyclicality: An Institutional Perspective” investigates the impact of the global economic policy uncertainty and its volatility on the cyclical properties of the fiscal policy, emphasizing the role of institutional quality.

The research utilizes advanced econometrics techniques for dynamic panel data, offering three key contributions: identifying how global economic uncertainty influences fiscal policy cyclicality, highlighting the mitigating role of institutional quality, and exploring the diverse effects across various institutional indicators.
