PhD alumnus Iyiola Omisore served as the Special Guest of Honor to inaugurate the 31st COREN Engineering Assembly held from August 7-9 in Abuja, Nigeria. His speech addressed this year's assembly theme, "Entrenching and Strengthening Engineering Practitioners’ Code of Conduct for Resilient Engineering Practice in Nigeria."

Recognized as an ambassador of the engineering profession, Senator Omisore's extensive contributions have been acknowledged through awards, including the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) Presidential Merit Award and the Prime Award for Remarkable Contribution to the Growth of Engineering Profession and Society.

The COREN Engineering Assembly is an annual event organized by COREN to bring together engineering professionals, academics, researchers, and industry leaders to discuss current trends and issues in the engineering profession. The Assembly provides a platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and collaboration among stakeholders in the engineering industry in Nigeria and beyond.
