ISM PhD candidate Dr. Bisola Onajin-Obembe will speak at the Pan African Association of Surgeons (PAAS) International Conference on Global Surgery Implementation in Africa. The conference will take place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on February 1-3, 2017. It aims to raise awareness and organize funding for a national global surgery policy in African countries. According to Professor Koffi Herve Yangni-Angate, President of the PAAS, “even in middle income countries, there is a significant unmet need with regards to surgically treatable conditions. The consequence of this is an increased burden of disability and increased poverty.” For more information about the conference, go to http://www.paasgsi.org/.
