Born in Italy but raised and educated in the US, I am a New Yorker at heart. I believe that diversity has always been part of my world; it is a great source of enrichment. In today’s globalized economy, diversity is about discovering the world from other people’s perspectives.
ISM is a natural fit with my personality since it is a truly inspiring and exciting global community of talented professionals and passionate learners. Being a passionate and open-minded analyst and learner, I enjoy teaching and researching economics and business-related topics more than anything else since it is about doing some of the things I love the most: researching, learning, sharing ideas and connecting with others, helping others to pursue their career goals and dreams to succeed. It’s sort of a mission for me.
It’s about having an impact on their lives, their learning process, their career development, and leadership skills. It is also very exciting for me to be actively involved in the corporate world and business community and to contribute to the value creation of firms and other entities in order to enhance their global sustainability and competitiveness. I enjoy being part of this virtuous learning and sharing community in which I constantly interact with other learners and practitioners, and this amazing knowledge-sharing loop generates value and growth opportunities for all.
I am fascinated by scenario analysis, strategic and systemic thinking, assessing complexity, exploring new ideas and innovative business models, and unveiling the Big Picture and new strategic paradigms. Since 2003, I have been a seasoned lecturer of economics, finance, governance and regulation, global competitiveness and strategic management, business analytics, and international business at international business schools and executive education programs in Europe (e.g. ISM, Catholic University of Milan, ISTUD, IAE University of Nice Sophia Antipolis, University of Pisa). I am also a member of the advisory board of a number of international academic journals (e.g. The Global Analyst Magazine, The Journal of Governance and Regulation, and The Journal of Business and Sustainability) and a Member of the ISM Committee for Doctoral Studies. Furthermore, I am an economics commentator, columnist, and regular contributor on global economic outlooks to news agencies and international TV broadcasting networks (e.g. CNBC, RAI Economia, Bloomberg/Business Week, and Roubini EconoMonitor), as well as keynote speaker at international conferences. Thus, I am constantly balancing my academic, researching, and lecturing activity with my active involvement in the business community as an analyst and advisor – not to mention, my favorite activity of all, spending quality time with my young twin sons.
Prior to my current board advisory, management consulting, and academic career, I held senior executive positions at national and international level at leading global organizations in diversified industries (FCA, American Express, Accenture, Citibank, Diners Club). I earned a BS degree from NYU Stern School of Business, an MBA from SDA Bocconi School of Management in Milan, and a doctorate degree in Economics, Finance, and Corporate Governance from SMC University in Zurich.
